Impala -The deer like animal found @ akbar manusoleum agra

Impala is a deer like animal, these are found in large numbers in Africa. Found some of them in Agra (Sikandra), inside akbar's mausoleum.

Couldn't go near them but as usual super zoom camera allowed me to take some close-up shots, but had to reduce resolution to get better zoom.

I had some confusion identifying name of this animal-Thanks to Praks for helping me out

Outside views of this Gurudev Mandir. Falls on the highway, so you wont usually miss it.
Gurudev Mandir, Mathura
To enter this mandir you are required to give their name and full address to the person manning the gate. May be a security measure or a data collection effort. No proof is asked though for the address given. No money is charged for the entry and footwear. Fully free. Inside it is more like a marriage hall. A big empty hall with a photo on the stage. Nice place for meditation. Full marble building.

Jugads-Assembled vehicles of North india

Assembled vehicles of North india!
You know about assembled computers-know have a look at these assembled vehicles, which I found in hundreds in UP/Haryana region.

What’s unique about these vehicles?
Have a closer look-engine is made out of a diesel generator. Other components like steering wheel, transmission and all are sourced from spare parts of various vehicles-may be from that of a jeep, tractor or trucks.

First time when I saw this, I thought some local mechanic might be experimenting with this makeshift vehicle, but during next 2 days, I saw hundreds of them. Seems quite popular and visibly cheap-couldn’t have costed more than a lakh per vehicle. (And you thought TATA NANO is pretty cheap-I’m sure given enough support these guys can make even cheaper car) None of the vehicles have any sort of registration details on them. There’s no proper protection to engine, which braves everything from dust, air, rain and sun. Rear view mirror, turn indicators, Airbag, seat belt, ABS- try explaining them all these...
Assembled vehicles of North india!

Clearly, this is very much an organized business, but with no proper branding, license, permits and such things that bother any legitimate enterprise. Whoever is behind this, must be pretty genius and could have taken up this initiative on a large scale adhering to applicable guidelines. (May be he’ll lose the cost advantage if he starts following rules and regulations) Law enforcement agencies seem to have turned a blind eye towards these unauthorized vehicles on road, though our driver Ajay tells these vehicles are found only in villages and on highways, where policing is pretty low. When asked what are these vehicles called he gave a 3 letter name, which I’m unable to recall now.

Update: These vehicles are called Jugads or Maruthas. There's no paperwork for these vehicles and they do not exist legally. If you're hit by them you can't even claim insurance...(inputs from IndiaMike users)

Emperor Shah Jahan, who built the Taj Mahal, was imprisoned by his son Aurangzeb in the Agra Fort where the former spent last 7 years of his life. I overheard few tourists excitedly talking among themselves-"I touched the bed on which Shah Jahan had slept"...

Cute Squirrels of Agra Fort

As per indian mythology, its Lord Rama who drew the 3 lines we saw on the back of these squirrels, which was in appreciation of little help these animals rendered while the bridge to Lanka was being constructed.

I found so many of them inside Agra fort. They were quite friendly-If you sit idle for some time these tiny animals gather courage and come near. But I couldn't cuddle them the way I would have done with a cat-they run away if touched.
