When Doctors fall sick-where do they go?

Two photos by Jayasimha, who had joined us for the Wayanad trip. We found two odd names for hospitals, in Sulthan Bather, Wayanad District, kerala.

When doctors fall sick where are they supposed to go?
Here's a hospital exclusively for doctors... :)

Another name: Assumption hospital...
Get admitted with an assumption that you'll come out alive...

Both photos taken by Jayasimha U

The place name is Sultan Bathery. Regarding Assumption Hospital, I think it is based on the Christian term which means "the taking up of the body and soul of the Virgin Mary when her earthly life had ended" (Curtz : www.definitions.net). Oddly enough, that might mean no one will come out alive :) .

I think 'Battery' was the original name given by british? We're making it Bathery?

Thanks for dropping by.

It was Sultan Battery during the British times, but later renamed into Malayalam as Sultan Bathery. Have attached the wiki just in case http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sultan_Battery
